One shot - lots of flavours

ServEquip's new One-Shot System is the first ice-cream dispensing system to serve a range of flavours of soft-serve product from a single unit.

It works by operators selecting a patented 'smart' single portion of the chosen flavour, removing a protective pull-off tab on the base of the tub to expose a star-shaped extrusion nozzle and inserting the recyclable container into a dispenser.

An automatic plunger then applies pressure to the lid of the container, which forces the frozen product through the nozzle directly onto a cone or serving tub. As the ingredients don't come into contact with the equipment, there are no components to clean and the portion control eliminates wastage.

The system also allows inclusions such as nuts, fruit and chocolate chips to be incorporated into the ice cream.

There are various flavours of ice cream available in the single portion containers and if the ice cream is not at the ideal dispensing temperature the system will automatically detect this and temporarily cease to operate.

Commenting, ServEquip managing director, Paul Williams said: “Historically, operators have offered either major impulse brands manufactured by the larger food manufacturers or one soft-serve ice cream flavour - usually vanilla - from the one unit and relied upon staff to ensure that the equipment is used and cleaned correctly.

“Ice cream sellers, retailers and caterers can now decide what they want to sell rather than being dictated to. The One-Shot can comfortably dispense at least 150 portions per hour and gives operators the chance to create a brand and their own ice-cream recipes.”
